Kimberly Bond started a mobile small animal abdominal ultrasound service in January 2021. She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1996. Her first year was spent working in a small animal practice with small and large animal on call. The next eight years she worked in emergency and small animal general practice in the London and Toronto areas. She returned exclusively to small animal general practice in 2005 in London and developed a professional interest in ultrasound in 2011.
Since 2011 Dr. Bond has accumulated more than 250 hours of formal continuing education training in small animal abdominal and cardiac ultrasound. She works with a Logiq e Vet NextGen portable machine with 3 transducers, an 8C microconvex, 12L linear and 6S cardiac phased array. She is a member of IVUSS, AAFP, OVMA, IVPOCUS and Sonopath. She travels to local veterinary clinics in the Hamilton area to perform abdominal and cardiac ultrasounds.
Dr. Bond has received 194 hours of in-person instruction, in addition to virtual continuing education and instructional webinars. She has performed hundreds of ultrasounds for clinics from Hamilton to London. Dr. Kimberly Bond started her formal ultrasound education with Dr. Stephanie Nykamp DVM, DACVR, through Lifelearn at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) in 2011 and 2012. She received instruction in the emerging field of point-of-care ultrasound from Dr. Gregory Lisciandro DVM, DACVECC, DABVP, in 2015. Also in 2015 she had further in-depth training from Dr. Nykamp. She took organ specific education provided by Scilvet (Heska) in 2021. In 2022 she received a certificate in Advanced Soft Tissue Ultrasound, having been instructed by Dr. Dana Neelis DVM, DACVR, in Dallas,Texas. She received instruction in intermediate and advanced cardiac ultrasound from Dr. Sonya Gordon DVM, DACVM (Cardiology) and June Boon BA, MS in Guelph and Vancouver in 2023 and 2024. In 2025, she attended the annual IVUSS conference on topics including advanced abdominal and cardiac ultrasound.
